What to write?

Tons of stories, tons of details but which to choose?

I started working on a story last week spurred by a press release about breastfeeding being sustainable and economical.

That was cool. But the kicker was about nipple piercing and breast implants so of course I thought of the recent Heidi Montag surgery binge.

Combining this holistically isn’t really working though. College kids don’t really care about breastfeeding. Also, I need to find girls with fake boobs who want to talk to a reporter about it. I’m sure they’re out there, but some research is necessary.

I’m also considering a Toyota story, an Iran story, a story on the revised UF ethnicity survey and will be covering an adopt-a-thon at Petsmart. Now the adopt-a-thon is a sure thing, but I’m pretty sure my professor is over me covering events because they are easy.

Hot news today is the revision of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders released Wednesday. Stories about cutting, bi-polar children, and binge eating are flooding the Web.

I personally think it’s ridiculous to label children with psychiatric disorders because they are going through the ups and downs of growing up. So there’s a bit of a conflict, but at the same time, it’s a reporters job to put aside personal opinions and report.

Decisions, decisions.
