“Truckers Insist on Keeping Computers in the Cab”

Overall, I agree that people shouldn’t be texting and driving, whether in a car or in a truck. However, this isn’t the loss that some people make it out to be. With the advent of the Bluetooth and voice-to-text technology, tools that truckers need on the road exist in a safer form. It’s not a black and white issue of freely texting or typing versus completely no digital communication. There’s a gray area that should be explored.

While it will be expensive to make the change from a keyboard-based system (great idea in the first place) to a hands-free system, it’s the safest for everyone on the road.
